Carburetor Tips & Troubleshooting

* Take the time to properly jet your bike. It will make a bigger difference that any bolt on part.

* Clean your carb at least once a year. FCR Carbs are very sensitive to dirt and have a few common wear parts.

* Do not take out or adjust your TPS sensor unless you have the proper tools, specs, and know what you are doing.

* If you clean your carb, pay close attention to the position of the removable plate on the slide. This often gets put on upside down.

* If you have problems with your hot start seizing, install a PC hot start nut. Use teflon tape to seal the threads. Also use shrink tube to seal ruber seal to nut and cable.

Modern 4-stroke FCR carburetors  are the most advanced, complex, & sensitive carbs ever found on a dirt bike.  They work very well when clean and correctly adjusted. They can also be a nightmare if this is not done. Your after-market pipe, cam, piston, & big bore can actually make your bike slower if you don't have your carburetor jetted properly.
